Gertrude Viola Mulcahey, 92, died Monday Feb. 12, 2007 in the Cherokee Villa Nursing and Rehab Center following a lengthy illness. Burial was Friday Feb. 16, 2007 in the Mount Calvary Cemetery, Cedar Rapids. Greenwood Funeral Home in Cherokee,was in charge of arrangements.

Mulcahey was born May 29, 1914 in Marathon, to Charles and Mary Lee. She was educated in Cherokee, graduating from Wilson High School. She later attended nurse's training in Des Moines.

She is survived by her daughter, Patricia Keith, of Cherokee; granddaughters, Deborah Medick, and her husband, Harold, of Cleghorn; Lori Moats, and her husband, Gary, of Wichita, Kan.;and six
great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, a brother and sister, and a grandson, Robert Keith.
