Mrs. Walter ( Nellie ) Lewis, 80, of San Diego, Calif., forerly of Aurelia, died Sat. in San Diego.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday in the Wharton Funeral Home in Aurelia. Burial will be in Pleasant Hill Cemetery at Aurelia.. The body will arrive late tonight at the funeral home.
Mrs. Lewis, the former Nellie Martin, was born Dec. 23. 1899, in webster County.

She was married Dec. 12, 1923 in Elk Point, S.D.. They lived in Cherokee and Buena Vista counties. They operated a cafe in Peterson and the Sioux Hotel in Sioux Rapids. Mr. Lewis died in 1974.

Survivors include 1 son, Lester Lewis; Three daughters, Ruby White, Loma Sims and Geraldine Wald, all of Calif.;Seven grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; 1 brother, Charles of Iowa City; 7 sisters, Elsie McCanney of Elk Point, S.D. and Lois Welch of Kansas City and 5 sisters in Calif.
