Obituary
Charles Washburn Jones was born at Goshen, Elkhart county, Indiana, October 31, 1869, and died January 1, 1917, at his home three and one-half miles southeast of Cherokee. He was therefore 46 years, 2 months and 1 day old.

He was married February 12, 1896, to Lettie Campbell of Cherokee. To this union were born seven children; Guy, Clara, Ellis, Susie, Inez, Kern and Vern. He also leaves to mourn his loss, a wife, mother, two brothers and five sisters. They are as follows: J. A. Jones, of Sioux City; W. F. Jones, of Slayton, Minn., Mrs. J. W. Leeds, of Cherokee; Mrs. R. B. Hamilton of Currie, Minn., Mrs. J. W. Doerr, of Ocheyedan, Mrs. W. Houser of Cherokee and Mrs. George McClain of Aurelia. The father preceded him twelve years and one brother David two months.

He was patient through the eight long years of suffering and was an honest, upright man, forgiving to his fellowmen.

Funeral services were held at the home at 11:00 o’clock a.m. Thursday, January 4, 1917, conducted by Rev. Young of Aurelia. Interment was made at Aurelia Pleasant Hill cemetery.
