Oliver D. Schnell, 89, 718 North 1st st. Cherokee died Sunday Aug 7, 1994 in Sioux Valley Hosp.,Cherokee, following an extended illness.

Services were held Wed. at 10:30 a.m. at the St. Paul's United Methodist Church, In Cherokee, Rev Gary Armstrong officiating.. Buriel was in Afton Township cemetery, rural Cherokee.
Oliver was born Aug. 3, 1904 to Chris and Nancy Jane (Dunn) Schnell in Aurelia Ia.. He attended school in Cherokee and graduated from Wilson High School in 1922. On Dec. 14, 1926 he married Hazel Mae Saville in Plankenton S.D. They farmed for many years and he sold feed for Moorman Feed for 15 years. Following retirement he drove a van for the Work Activity Center, worked as a custodian for the Cherokee Public Library. He was a member of the St. Paul's United methodist Church.

Survivors inclode his wife; 1 son, Donald of Columbus Junction Ia. 2 sisters, Evelyn Hantsbarger, of Cherokee and Sadie Wilson of Washingtion Ia and many nieces and nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death be 1 sister.
