Richard A. Blake was the son of Chas. and Rebecca Blake, who was born Oct-25-1877. in Afton Township, Cherokee County, Ia. where he spent most of his youth. In the year 1906 on June 27, Richard was united in marriage to Anna Belle Bradbury of Petersburg, Neb. To this union one daughter, Anna Belle, was born.
Richards life was spent in public work. The family moved back to Cherokee last Nov. where they resided untill his passing July 11th 1938. He had reached the age of 60 years, 10 monthd, and 16 days.
He is survived by his wife and daughter, Mrs Anna Belle Griffith, of Cherokee; one sister, Mrs. Carrie Collman of George, Ia. a brother, William E. Blake of Omaha Neb. And other relatives . Funeral Services were held at 10 o'clock Wed. morning from Appleyard and Boothby Funeral Home. C.O. Davis, a reader of Christion Science Society, was in charge and internment was at Oak Hill Cemetery . There is no marker.
