DOROTHY HARDEN

Funeral services for Dorothy Harden, 81, of Aurelia, will be 1:30 P.M. Monday, February 13, 2006, at the First United Methodist Church in Aurelia with Pastor Harold Werley officiating. Burial will be in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Aurelia. Visitation will be Sunday from 2:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M., with the family being present from 2:00 to 5:00, at the Redig Funeral Home in Aurelia.

Dorothy died Thursday, February 9, 2006, of injuries sustained in an automobile accident south of Aurelia.

Dorothy Ann Lee was born on October 23, 1924, the daughter of Orville and Bertha (Bartels) Lee at Le Mars, IA. She graduated from the Le Mars High School and attended the Iowa State Teachers College in Cedar Falls, IA, for two years and received her teaching certificate. Dorothy taught kindergarten at Lake View for two years. On September 26, 1947 Dorothy married Virgil E, (Pete) Harden in Le Mars. Dorothy was the Pitcher Township Clerk from 1969 until 1976.

Dorothy was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Aurelia, Martha Circle, and Maple Valley Friendship Club. She enjoyed spending time with her family, golf, and trips to Sloan.

Preceding Dorothy in death were her parents, her husband Virgil on August 29, 2002, infant daughter Deborah Lynn, and two brothers-in-law, Alfred Felton and Bob Moss.

Survivors include one daughter, Sue and her husband Don Kramer of New Richmond, WI, one son, Chuck and his wife Marilyn Harden of Des Moines, five grandchildren; Allison and her husband Andy Pattee of Oskaloosa, IA, Brian Kramer and Wendy Harden both of Minneapolis, MN, Jen and her husband Tony Medici of Des Moines, and Sara and her husband Aaron Turner of Des Moines, and two great-grandsons, Aiden and Brock Turner, and one sister, Jeanie Moss of Cleveland, OH, and nieces and nephews and other relatives and friends.
