VINCENT C. BECKER

Funeral services for Vincent Becker, 93, of Cherokee, formerly of Aurelia, will be 10:30 A.M. Friday, April 22, 2005, at the First United Methodist Church in Aurelia, with Pastor Jack Weida officiating. Burial will be in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Aurelia. Visitation will be Thursday from 2:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M., with the family being present from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M., at the Redig Funeral Home in Aurelia.

Vincent died Tuesday, April 19, 2005, at the Sioux Valley Memorial Hospital in Cherokee, Iowa.

Vincent Clifford Becker was born November 14, 1911, the son of Frank and Jessie (McQuin) Becker at Aurelia, Iowa. Vincent graduated from the Aurelia High School in 1930. On May 24, 1938, Vincent married Ann M. Nordstrom at her parent’s home south of Aurelia. Vincent farmed in Ida and Cherokee County, and then he purchased a farm in Buena Vista County in 1950 which he farmed until moving to Aurelia in 1973 retiring from farming in 1978. Vincent and Ann moved into the Beck in Cherokee in July of 1999. Vincent was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Aurelia, and the Aurelia Kiwanis. He enjoyed fishing, bowling, traveling, and playing golf and shooting pool.

Preceding Vincent in death were his parents, his wife Ann on May 9, 2002, son-in-law, Leonard Morlan, two brothers, Lawrence and Ronald Becker, and two sisters, Mabel Peterson and Berniece Johnson.

Survivors include his daughter, Theo (Becky) Morlan of Lohrville, IA, five step-grandchildren, Joe, and his wife JoAnn Morlan of Glidden, IA, Wanda and her husband Mike Johnson of Winterset, IA, Jerry and his wife Peggy Morlan of Pomeroy, IA, Ilene and her husband Tom Young of Olathe, KA, and Pattie and her husband Travis Turner of Omaha, NE, nine step-great-grandchildren, three step-great-great grandchildren, sister-in-law, Lois Becker of Cherokee, brother-in-law Vernon Peterson of
Cherokee, and other relatives and friends.
