QUIMBY, Iowa -- Lynn Augusta Dittmer, 42, of Quimby passed away suddenly Thursday, March 31, 2005, at her residence after struggling with a lengthy battle with Parkinson's disease.

Services will be 10:30 a.m. Monday at Pilgrim Lutheran Church in Quimby, with the Rev. Don Meyer officiating. Burial will be in Silver Township Cemetery. Visitation will be 2 to 8 p.m. Sunday, with the family present 6 to 8 p.m., at Barker Funeral Home in Holstein, Iowa.

Lynn was born Aug. 10, 1962, at Tinker Air Force Base, Midwest City, Okla., to Darrell and Susan (Knox) Miller. In 1963, she moved to rural Ida Grove, Iowa. In 1980, she graduated from Ida Grove High School. She then continued her education at Buena Vista College in Storm Lake, Iowa, graduating in 1984 with a degree in mass communication.

On Dec. 3, 1983, she married Vincent Dittmer at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Ida Grove. They made their home on a farm near Quimby, where she enjoyed flower gardening and helping with the livestock, especially the lambs and colts. She really liked being outside. She worked at Central Trust Bank in Cherokee, Iowa, for a while before moving on to KCHE Radio Station. She worked on the air and in sales for several years.

She enjoyed needle point, crocheting, tatting and reading, especially Tom Clancy novels. She was a member of Pilgrim Lutheran Church, where she was very active in the Lady's Aid, the flower committee, Sunday school, Vacation Bible School, choir and various other activities.

She is survived by her husband, Vincent; her children, Benjamin, Nicholas and Amanda, all at home; her parents, Darrell and Susan (Knox) Miller of Ida Grove; a brother, Lyle Miller of Gardner, Kan.; parents-in-law, Robert and Eva (Todd) Dittmer of Holstein, Iowa; and brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Jayne and John Perrett of Holstein, and Roberta and Les Thomas of Sterling, Va.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents and a sister-in-law, Valerie Dittmer.
