CHEROKEE, Iowa -- Jeffrey Scott Harm, 45, of Johnston, Iowa, formerly of Cherokee, passed away Monday, Aug. 8, 2005, at Mercy Hospice in Johnston.

Memorial services will be 2 p.m. today at Aldersgate Methodist Church in Urbandale, Iowa, with a reception to follow. Burial of the cremated remains will be 10 a.m. today in Lincoln Cemetery, near Grimes, Iowa. A time of remembrance will be 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Mickey's Valley Hall in Pleasant Valley, Iowa. Arrangements are under the direction of Caldwell Raddatz Funeral Home and Crematory.

Jeffrey was born March 31, 1960, in Cherokee, to Larry and Dee (Cowan) Harm. He graduated from Pleasant Valley High School in 1978, where he held the 3200 meter run record for 27 years. He graduated from Iowa State University in 1983, with a degree in landscape architecture.

He was married to Tracey Lynn Bordewick. He was employed as a city planner for the city of Urbandale.

He was a member of Aldersgate Methodist Church and a registered member of the American Society of Landscape Architects.

He is survived by his wife, Tracey Harm of Johnston, Iowa; a daughter, Rhianna at home; two sons, Ryan and Casey, both at home; his parents, Larry and Dee Harm of Bettendorf, Iowa; grandmother, Marjorie Harm of Pierson, Iowa; parents-in-law, Jerry and Phyllis Bordewick of Dubuque, Iowa; and a large and loving extended family.

Memorials are suggested to the family trust fund established in his name at Wells Fargo Bank.
