Pearl Munson

CHEROKEE, Iowa -- Pearl Munson, 90, of Hastings, Minn., formerly of Cherokee and Sioux City, passed away Monday, Oct. 3, 2005, at Regina Medical Center in Hastings.

Services will be 2 p.m. Thursday at Boothby Funeral Home in Cherokee, with Deacon LeRoy Rupp officiating. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be 9 a.m. until service time Thursday, with the family present at 12:30 p.m., at the funeral home.

Pearl was born Nov. 14, 1914, in Jackson, Neb., to Harry and Rose (Mackey) Reed. She attended schools in Jackson.

She married Sherman D. Munson in 1935 in South Sioux City. She had lived in Hastings since 1989, prior to this in Sioux City for 10 years and was a longtime resident of Cherokee. While living in Cherokee, she worked for Hope's Fashion Farm.

Survivors include two sons and their wives, Harold S. and Arni Munson of Branson, Mo., and Robert D. and Jeanne Munson of Hastings, Minn.; five grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; a great-great-grandchild; three brothers, Leo Reed of Davenport, Iowa, Gene Reed of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, and James Reed and his wife, Shirll of Sioux City; and two sisters, Bonnie and her husband, Don Brown of South Sioux City and Monica Menard of Sacramento, Calif.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Sherman Munson; brothers, Claude, Mark, Marvin and Charley; and a sister, Eva Boyle.
