CHEROKEE, Iowa -- Esther K. Moller, 84, of Cherokee died Wednesday, July 6, 2005, at Cherokee Villa Nursing and Rehab Center following a brief illness.
Services will be 1 p.m. Friday at St. Paul's United Methodist Church in Cherokee, with the Rev. Ray Hampton officiating. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be 2 to 9 p.m. today, with the family present 6:30 to 8 p.m., at Greenwood Funeral Home in Cherokee. Condolences may be sent on-line to www.greenwoodfuneral.com .
Esther was born Sept. 30, 1920, in Holstein, Iowa, to Jens and Myrtle (Dickutt) Jensen. She attended school in Holstein.
On Sept. 28, 1942, she married Melvin Moller in Holstein. He preceded her in death on June 12, 1981. She was the "shoe lady" at J.C. Penney's in Cherokee for 23 years.
She was a member of St. Paul's United Methodist Church. She enjoyed cooking, baking, playing cards, her family and camping with her husband many years ago.
Survivors include two sons and their wives, Darrel and Wanda Moller of Arnolds Park, Iowa, and Mike and Roxane Moller of Cherokee; grandchildren, Jim Moller of Cherokee, Shelley and her husband, Mark Benson of Meriden, Iowa, Traci Moller and her special friend, Les Lemley of Des Moines, Thad Moller and his wife, Brenda of Lookeba, Okla., Chad Moller and his wife, Michelle of Sioux Falls, S.D., and Allison Moller of Des Moines; and eight great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; six brothers, Jesse, Harold, Clifford, Eldon, Russell and Kenneth Jensen; and a sister, Pearl Kolb.
