CHEROKEE, Iowa -- Susan (Kassen) Hart, 51, of Cherokee, formerly of the Norborne, Mo., and Carrollton, Mo., area, died Thursday, Feb. 16, 2006, at Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha.

Memorial services will be noon Saturday at Thurman Funeral Home in Norborne, Mo. Burial will be at a later date. Visitation will be 11 a.m. until service time Saturday at the funeral home.

Susan was born Oct. 18, 1954, in Kansas City, Mo., to Bernard W. and Dorothy J. (Sandy) Kassen. She married Robert S. Hart of Carrollton, Mo., on May 6, 1989. She was a nurse's aide at Careage Hills Nursing Home in Cherokee.

She was of the Catholic faith. She was a very active member of the Business and Professional Women's Club, where she was a former president and Woman of the Year.

Survivors include her husband, Robert S. Hart; her mother, Dorothy J. Kassen of Norborne, Mo.; two brothers, David Kassen of Norborne and Kirby Kassen of Bronson, Kan.; four sisters, Cathy Cleary of Norborne, Kim Kassen of Overland Park, Kan., Pam Kassen of Los Angels, Calif., and Amy Royston of Overland Park, Kan.; many nieces and nephews; and a great-nephew.

She was preceded in death by her father.
