Earlene Mae Butler, 75, formerly of Cherokee, Iowa and currently of “The Abbey” in LeMars, Iowa died Monday May 29, 2006, in Floyd Valley Hospital, LeMars, Iowa following a lengthy illness.

Graveside services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Saturday at Rose Hill Cemetery, Emerson Nebraska. Greenwood Funeral Home, Cherokee, Iowa is in charge of arrangements. Online condolences may be sent at www.greenwoodfuneral.com .

Earlene was born August 11, 1930 in Emerson, Nebraska to Earl and Lydia (Feller) Wallway. She attended various schools, graduating from Ocheydan High School in Ocheydan, Iowa in 1947. In 1952 she married Bob Butler and they later divorced.

Earlene worked as a waitress for many years in Spencer and Estherville, Iowa.

Survivors include her sisters, Beverly Larson, and her husband, Hal, of Goodyear, Arizona; Betty Pool of Osceola, Iowa; and Margaret Fox, and her husband, Harold, of Princeton, Missouri; Maxine Wallway, of Estherville, Iowa; brother, Douglas Wallway, of Truckee, California. A devoted friend of 30 years, Scott Forcier.

She was preceded in death by her parents, and one brother Robert Wallway.
