Dot Mott died at Willows in The Village Retirement Community in Indianola on Sunday, Aug. 13, 2006.

A memorial service was held at the Maple Crest Lounge at The Village on Tuesday, Aug. 15, 2006 at 10 a.m.

A second memorial service is at the Friends Meeting House, rural Paullina, on Wednesday, Aug. 16, at 7 p.m.

Final resting place will be at the Friend's Cemetery at rural Paullina.

Memorials can be sent to Hospice of Central Iowa or The American Friends Service Committee.

Dot was born May 12, 1924, to Albert and Rachel Livezey in Barnesville, Ohio. She attended Quaker school for 12 years, graduating from Olney Friends School in 1942 and then attended Adrian College in Michigan.

Dot married Donald Mott on Oct. 4, 1947 at the Stillwater Friends Meeting House in Barnesville, Ohio.

Dot resumed her education at Northwestern College in Orange City and received her degree in physical education in 1965. Dot taught K-12 grades at Sutherland Schools from 1965-1972.

Dot's hobbies were gardening, reading, bird watching, traveling and cross-stitching. She was a member of the Mapleside quilting group for many years.

Dot was preceded in death by her sister, Ruth Graber and her parents, Albert and Rachel (Kirk) Livezey.

Survivors include her husband Donald Mott of Indianola; four children, Dave and Carrie Ash-Mott of El Paso, Texas, Deb and George Miller of Washington, Iowa. Dan Mott and Barb Busch-Mott of Cherokee, Dennis and Julie Mott of Davenport, AFS student Andrew Brown of Cardiff, Wales, three grandchildren and one great-grandchild; Deb's daughter, Maria and Greg Hanson of Edina Minn., Dennis's sons, Eric of Cedar Falls, Jason of Davenport, great-granddaughter Elizabeth of Edina, Minn.; four siblings; Mildred Crosbie and husband Owen of Paullina, Helen Drum and husband John of Columbus, Ohio, Bertha Brown and husband Joe of Woodland, N.C., and Paul Livezey and wife Carol of Avon Park, Fla. as well as Don's sisters, Muriel Neifert and James of Minneapolis, and Mildred Mendenhall of Duncan, B.C.

Dot will also be missed by her cousins, nieces, nephews and many friends

Cremation Society of Eastern-Central - Western Iowa is in charge of arrangements.
