D. Larry Patrick, 67, of Cleghorn, died on Tuesday, Aug. 8, 2006. at 5:15 p.m. in the Happy Siesta Nursing Home in Remsen following a lingering illness with Alzheimer's.

Graveside services will be held on Friday at 10:30 a.m. at the Meriden Cemetery. Pastor Larry Ostercamp will officiate. Visitation will be on Thursday from 10 a.m. until 9 p.m. with the family present from 6:30 until 8 p.m. at the Boothby Funeral Home in Cherokee. There will be a prayer service at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday evening at the funeral home.

Larry was born on January 25, 1939 in Cherokee to Robert & Julia (White) Patrick. He graduated from Larrabee High School in 1957. He was married to Patricia Ann Kastengren on June 13, 1958 at Jackson, Minn. He farmed for many years and was a veteran truck driver retiring in 2001 due to ill health. Larry had been a resident of Cleghorn for 33 years and had served as Mayor of Cleghorn from 1983 until 1995. He enjoyed collectables, spending time with his family and doing yardwork.

He was preceded in death by his father Robert Patrick and a nephew Wyatt Patrick.

He is survived by his wife Patty Ann of Meriden; two daughters and two sons: Rebecca Pigott and her husband Jon of Moville; Deborah Rupp and her husband Lyle of Yutan, Neb.; David L. Patrick; Tim Patrick and his wife DaNita of Paullina; his mother Julia Patrick of Marcus; eight grandchildren and four great grandchildren: Paul Rupp and his wife Lyndsay and their son Nathan; Patrick Rupp and children Michael and Emi; Luke Pigott and his wife Tara and their daughter Nyah; Jared Pigott and his wife Ashley; Andrea, Paul and Kayla Vincent, and Logan Patrick; one brother and one sister: Robert Dean Patrick and special friend Mary Sue Roach of McCall, Idaho; Linda Rusk and her husband Garrie of Sioux City; a sister-in-law Mary Boetel and her husband Doug of Springdale, Arkansas; brother-in-law: Jack Kastengren of Yankton, S.D.; father-in-law and mother-in-law Nels Kastengren and his wife Margaret of Sutherland; Carolyn Patrick of Emmett, Idaho; several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
