OBITUARY, NELSON

Mrs. Sidsel Nelson, mother of our townsman, H.J. Nelson, died at the residence of the latter in this city Saturday evening at 10:25 o'clock of liver and stomach trouble, aged 76 years. Deceased was sick and confined to the bed only one week, but on account of her advanced age it seems that medical aid and the most tender care could not restore her. Her four children were at the bedside during the past week, those residing out of town having been summoned here. The deceased has resided in this vicinity since 1872, coming here with her husband and family from Michigan in that year and settled on a farm three miles north of Aurelia. Her husband died about fourteen years ago, and she leaves four children to mourn her loss: Mrs. P.C. Nelson of Slayton, Minn., Nels Nelson, and Mrs. Annie Rasmussen of Wisconsin, and H.J. Nelson. P.C. Nelson, of Slayton, Minn., was also present at the funeral. Rev. Mattson conducted the funeral services which were held at the Lutheran church Monday afternoon at 2 o'clock, and was assisted by Rev. Baker, who spoke in English. The remains were interred in the Aurelia cemetery.
