Death of S. Place

Died, at his residence in Cherokee, at 4:05 a.m. Jan. 23, 1895, S. Place, aged 89 years, 3 months and 12 days.

The deceased was born in Hinesburg, Vermont, Nov. 13, 1811, where he lived several years. From there he moved with his family to Northern New York. In 1863 he moved to Ackley, Iowa, where he lived until 1870, when he came to this county, where he has resided since. He leaves five children. They are Mrs. J. Brooks, Mrs. D.S. Ring, Mrs. J.C. Richardson, Mrs. C.C. Benson and C.G. Place. Most of the family are here. The time of the funeral has not been fixed at the hour of going to press.
