Death of Mrs. Petermeyer*

Died at her home in Cedar township March 29, 1895. Hulda, the beloved wife of F.W. Petermyer, of heart failure.

Her death was very sudden and unexpected. She had not been feeling well for about four weeks, but was able to attend to her work until the day before her death. Even then her illness was not supposed to be serious. Her death, coming as it did, was a great shock to her relatives and friends, many of whom did not know that she was not in her usual health.

Hulda Amanda Rasmus was borm in Sweden August 9, 1866, and came to this country two years later, where she resided till the time of her death. On March 2, 1892, she was united in marriage with F.W. Petermyer. This union was blest with one child, Edna, who is about one one-half years old. The deceased united with the Swedish Baptist church about eight years ago and has since lived an exemplary Christian life. She was of a sweet, gentle, loving, trustful disposition and made friends of all who became acquainted with her. It may be said of her that which can be said of few, she had no enemies. The funeral services were held Sunday, March 31, in the Swedish Baptist church, and were conducted by W.J. Dodge of Meriden. The floral tributes were many and very beautiful. She was laid to rest in the Liberty township cemetery, the remains being followed by a large concourse of sympathizing friends and neighbors. A husband, daughter, father, mother, sister and four brothers, besides many friends, are left to mourn, but we should be comforted, for she has gone to be with the angels.

*Petermeyer is spelled as Petermyer in the article
