Mrs. Emily Stoughton, an Old Resident, Passes Away

Mrs. Emily Stoughton, who has been a resident of Cherokee for twenty-three years, died at the home of F.L. Smiley in this city last Sunday morning, aged 95 years. The funeral took place on Monday afternoon, the services being conducted by Rev. J. Cole

Mrs. Stoughton was the mother of six children, one daughter and five sons. The daughter, Mrs. Johnson, who resides at Sheboygan Falls, Wis., and four sons survive her. She has been a widow for forty-one years. She had two sons in the arms who served the full term-one in the 29th Ohio and the other in the 52d Illinois cavalry under Sherman. She also had two grandsons in the army.
