Mrs. Elizabeth Funk, mother of Mrs. Carrie M. McCormick of this city, and Geo. Funk of Afton township, died at Dell Rapids, S.D., on Friday last. The remains were taken to Hardin county for burial, passing through Cherokee Saturday night. Jas. Richardson, a son-in-law, was in charge of the remains. Geo. Funk joined the party here and went to Hardin country to be present at the last sad rites. The deceased died from la grippe and was 79 years of age.
