Death of Wm. Johns

Wm. Johns, an old settler of Pitcher township, died on Friday last, aged 54 years. He has been in an invalid and a great sufferer for the past three years. For some time his condition has been serious and his death was not unexpected. Deceased was a soldier in the late war, coming in the Twenty-first Iowa infantry. At his request the funeral was conducted by the G.A.R. on Sunday. A number of the post members went over form Cherokee to assist in the interment in Aurelia.
