William P. Zwick died in Cherokee, Iowa, March 20, 1892, of heart failure.

William P. Zwick was born in Belleville, Canada, April 25, 1825. His parents died when he was quite young. He came to the United States when a boy of about 16 years of age, making New York his home. He came to Cherokee in July 1882, where he has since made his home. He was a harnessmaker by trade as long as his strength would permit. Mr. Zwick had three daughters, Mrs. Curran, who lives in New York, Mrs. Alice Zwick and Mrs. Kittie Loucks of Cherokee. Mr. Zwick was a soldier in the Mexican war, serving for a term of three years. He was also a soldier in our late war, serving a term of two and a half years. Mr. Zwick united with the M.E. church a number of years ago. Since he has made Cherokee his home he attended the Presbyterian church. For the last few years he has not be able to attend worship at the house of God on account of his illness. In the death of Mr. Zwick the community loses a peaceable, true, hardworking citizen. The friends have the sympathy of the community in their bereavement. The funeral services were held at the Baptist church March 22, conducted by Rev. J.W. Neyman. The interment was in Oak Hill cemetery. The G.A.R. post of Cherokee were present in a body.
