Wedding of Arlene Cave and Harold Raymond

Arlene Cave Weds Harold Raymond Valentine’s Day

A simple but impressive wedding was solemnized at high noon St. Valentine’s Day when Arlene Cave, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Cave, and Harold Raymond, Son of Karl Raymond of Cleghorn, exchanged nuptial vows at the Church of Christ, Cherokee. The double ring ceremony was performed by Rev. Noah Hall. Bouquets of yellow flowers were arranged about the Altar.

The bride was attractive in a two piece military blue suit, with black and white accessories. She wore a lovely shoulder corsage. Mrs. Paul Jenness, cousin of the bride, was bridesmaid. She was attired in a two piece rose suit, with black and white accessories. She also wore a shoulder corsage.

The bridegroom and Henry Linneman, the best man, wore white carnation boutonnieres.

Mrs. Cave, mother of the bride was attired in a lovely navy blue dress with black and white accessories. Her shoulder corsage was of sweet peas.

Mrs. Clarence Cave, accompanied by Miss Betty Champion at the piano, sang, “I Love You Truly: and “Because,” during the ceremony. Mrs. Cave was dressed in a two piece blue suit and Miss Champion wore an old rose two piece suit.

A wedding dinner was served following the ceremony at the Blue room of the Lewis Hotel. Rose and blue decorations, chosen colors of the bride, were used for the table. It was centered with a beautiful three-tiered wedding cake, which was topped with a miniature bride and bridegroom, and decorated with blue rosebuds.

After a short honeymoon, Mr. and Mrs. Raymond will be at home at 623 West Willow in Cherokee.

Mrs. Raymond was graduated from the Wilson High School with the class of ’42. She has been employed the past two years a cashier at the Wholesale Grocery company where she will continue working.

Mr. Raymond is engaged in farming at the Henry Linneman farm. He had previously served seven months in the armed forced and received a medical discharge.

Guests at the wedding and dinner were: Mrs. And Mrs. Frank Cave, Karl Raymond, Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Miller and children of Schaller; Mr. and Mrs. Don Barry and daughters and Mr. and Mrs. Roger Barry, all of Sutherland, Margaret Barry, Mr. and Mrs. Henry Linneman of Cleghorn, Mr. and Mrs. George Mummert, Mr. and Mrs. Harold Brownmiller and sons, and Mr. and Mrs. Leslie Gregg and daughters and Rev. Noah Hall, all of Cherokee.
