A family dinner was held in Storm Lake for the 50th. Wedding Aniversary of John D. and Agnes (Scott) Blake. The dinner was hosted by their children , Mr. and Mrs. Wilmer Anderson of Alta, Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Hasenwinkel of Cherokee, Mr. and Mrs. Rolan Blake of Odebolt, Rusell Blake of Sheldon and Mr. and Mrs. Donald Blake of Cherokee. Other guests were grand-children ; Pamela Blake of Sheldon, Sharon and Verdel Van Briesen of Boyden, Alan and Pat Blake of Odebolt, Debbie, Laurie, and Mike Blake of Cherokee, , Mrs. David Anderson and Bryan of Ames. David Anderson was the only grand-child unable to attend but phoned. Also Mrs. Blake's brother, Mr.and Mrs. Chet Scott of Cherokee and Marcella Scott of Sioux City as well as Peggy Sauer of Sheldon.
The remainder of the afternoon was spent at the Raymond Hasenwinkel home and at 3:30 a few friends joined the group, Three of the guests included the waitresses at the wedding fifty years ago; Mr. and Mrs. Harry Mummert of Cherokee; Mr. and Mrs. John Odle; Cherokee and Mrs. Blanch Miller of Salem, Oregon
