Mr. Walter L. French and Miss Lena Kirchner were united in marriage at the home of Dr. Butler in this city last Thursday evening. The ceremony was performed by Rev. W.L. Ferris in the presence of a few friends. The bride is a sister of Mrs. Butler and a very estimable lady who has a host of friends in Cherokee. She had been for a number of years a very superior instructor in public schools, a highly cultured lady, and of recognized ability in intellectual circles. Mr. French secures for a wife a lady of rare executive ability and business tact. The groom is a clothing merchant in St. Louis, Mo., and is recognized as a successful business man. They left on the noon train Thursday for their future home, St. Louis.
