MARRIED-GERLACH-CARROLL In Cherokee, Tuesday, May 17, 1892, Mr. Theo. P. Gerlach and Miss Libbie E. Carroll, Rev. Father Saunders officiating.

Despite the condition of the weather last evening, a number of the invited guests braved the storm and bade defiance to the threatening food to witness the above ceremony. The wedding took place at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Chas. Gerlach, and although it was a hideous night without, the pleasures of the occasion repaid those who ventured in carriage through the deep, deep mud. The ceremony was to have taken place at 7:30, but was a little late on account of the guests not being able to reach the house in time. The nuptial knot was tied by Rev. Father Saunders. Miss Kittie Aton of Marcus and Mrs. Arthur Gerlach of Hull attended the bride and groom and the wedding ring was passed on a sliver platter by little Gracie Gerlach. The bride looked very charming in a wedding gown of white cashmere, princess, en train, trimmed in embroidered chiffon, white kid slippers, white silk mitts. She wore bride’s roses in the hair and carried a large boquet of white bride’s roses tied with white ribbon. The always handsome groom wore the conventional black. Miss Aton wore a dress of cream cashmere, with slippers and mitts to match and corsage boquet of pink roses.

After the ceremony and the very hearty congratulations were over with the guests sat down to a sumptuous wedding feast, and later the bride’s cake and wine were served by the bride and groom. After a season of social enjoyment, with instrumental and vocal solos, the gusts departed, leaving the happy couple sagely embarked in the matrimonial boat. The Democrat joins with a host of friends in wishing them a safe and pleasant voyage. They will at once settle down to keeping house on north second street. Among a large number of wedding gifts were the following:
