An Afflicted Family

On Monday news was brought to THE DEMOCRAT of the serious affliction which has befallen the family of Thos. Daily of Spring township, through the ravages of that terrible disease, black diphtheria. About ten days ago the first signs of the disease were shown and on Wednesday last their 3-year-old son died and was buried Thursday. On Sunday morning their son, aged 5 years, fell a victim and was buried the same day. Mr and Mrs. Daily and their youngest babe were down with the disease, our informant stated, and it was a question whether any of them would survive. There was very little hope of the baby living.
