Hans J and Ana Kerstine Nielsen are my great great great grandparents
My great grandmother Amanda Anna Nelson Clark never spoke about her family
In my research I found where Hans and Ana immigrated to Clear Lake with their children - minus their eldest daughter Dorthrea Maria Nielsen Andersen
Dorthrea Maria -immigrated to Clear Lake in 1878
I stumbled onto the rest of the family in the Iowa census
The name changes drove me crazy but I guess they wanted to be more American
But Denmark had laws and documented all immigrants

Do you have any more info
