Research in Cerro Gordo Co.

I'm helping a friend with her family history, and we're planning a trip to Cerro Gordo County in about 10 days to visit cemeteries and hopefully do some research. We are particularly interested in trying to find probate and land records from 1850-1910. Are these still at the county courthouse? If so, are the county officials in charge of these records open to having researchers come in and search records?

We are also wondering if there are any local public or historical libraries that have good collections relating to families in Cerro Gordo County.
