McNiders of Mason City

My great grandmother, Betsy Gordon (1866-1945) come to the United States from Norway in 1883. It is said that she went straight to Mason City, IA and worked for a McNider Family. I would like a little history on the McNiders of that era. My Grandmother did some sketching while she was in Mason City. (One charcoal picture which we still have.) Could the McNider Family she worked for have a connection to your McNider Art Museum?
