Bertha Lee funeral set for Monday
The funeral for Bertha Lee 81, who died Friday in a Mason City hospital, will be at 1:30 p.m. Monday at the Patterson-James Chapel. The Rev. D. D. Teiszen, pastor of the Calvary Alliance Church will officiate.
Mrs. Lee, widow of Morley Lee, former Mason City building contractor, had lived in the community 50 years and made her home at 610 S. Monroe.
She was born Dec. 6, 1884, at Greene, daughter of August and Amelia (Butsloff) Benke. She was married to Morley V. Lee, June 15, 1903, at Greene.
Surviving are six sons, Ralph Lee, Ventura; Harry, Leonard, Robert and Russell Lee, all of Mason City, and Douglas Lee of Clear Lake; a daughter, Mrs. Sherwood (Beatrice) Skovgaard, Mason City, 14 grandchildren and 27 great-grandchildren.
Two brothers, Albert and Walter Benke, Greene, and four sisters, Mrs Henry (Anna) Robinson, Mason City; Mrs. Irving (Fannie Mae) Theno, Minneapolis, Mrs. Roy (Gustav)McFall, San Bernardino, Calif., and Mrs. William (Rose) Restivo, Chicago, also survive.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Morley, in 1961 and by a grandson, three brothers and two sisters.
The six sons will be pallbearers. Mrs. Earl Ehlers will be the organist.
Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery.
Friends may call at the chapel until the time of services.
