Pearl J. Grundel
Pearl J. Grundel, 75 died Wednesday (Nov. 4, 1998) at her residence. Funeral services will be held at 1:30 P.M. Friday at the Wesley United Methodist Church, 1405 S. Pennsylvania Ave, Mason City Iowa. Internment will follow in the Memorial Park Cemetery.
Pearl was born Feb.24, 1923, the daughter of Henry and Myra (Graves) Ruffridge on a farm outside Grafton, and later attended country school.
On Feb. 25, 1941, Pearl was united in marriage to Roland "Louie" Grundel at St. John's Lutheran Church in rural Grafton. The couple farmed all of their lives until retiring and moving to Mason City in 1979.
Pearl loved to travel and was ready to go with anyone willing to take her. She was very involved at the Senior Citizen Center and never missed a day.
Pearl had a great sense of humor and a golden heart. She enjoyed baby-sitting for her grandchildren and other friends. Pearl was contunuoulsy talking on the phone with friends and family. Pearl would attend dances to watch people and visit with her friends. Pearl thought camping was a great adventure, but her favorite past time was going out to eat.
Pearl was a member of Wesley United Methodist Church.
