Obituary for Robert Dean Hodge

Robert “Bob” D. Hodge, 80, of Mason City, died Friday, December 18, 2020 at Heritage Care Center, Mason City.

Private Family graveside services will be held at a later date in Friends Cemetery, Iowa Falls, Iowa.

Robert Dean was born June 30, 1940 in Eldora, Iowa the son of Carl Jake and Elizabeth “Ball” Hodge. He was united in marriage to Doris Bell on February 22, 1985. Bob was employed for 35 years at Riverside Book and Bible in Iowa Falls. He enjoyed taking bus trips to Branson, Missouri. He also liked to bowl, play cribbage, horse shoes, listening to country music, following football, especially the Hawkeyes and Cyclones and playing bingo. He was very active in the Moose Lodge.

Living family members include his daughter, Barbara Wilkinson, Des Moines. Step Children, Merle and Lavonne Hines, Juanita Bekx, and Ken and Darla Hines; grandchildren Jennifer, Julie, Nate, Stephanie, Michele, Dustin, and Heather; great grandchildren Matthew and Christopher; Ava, Andrew, Zion; Mya, Ella; Adelaide, Oliver, Helen.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Doris, August 25, 2020, a daughter Christine, son-in-law Wayne Wilkinson, one brother in infancy, his sister Betty Hanson and a grandson, Tony.
