Obituary for Jeffrey Jay Movick

Jeffrey J. Movick died Tuesday, December 22, 2020 at MercyOne North Iowa Medical Center in Mason City, IA.

A Celebration of his Life will be held 1 p.m. Wednesday, December 30, 2020 at Hogan-Bremer-Moore Colonial Chapel, 126 3rd St. NE, Mason City, IA with Rev. Mark Doebel officiating. Inurnment will take place in Elmwood-St. Joseph Cemetery, Mason City.

Visitation will be held one hour prior to the funeral at the chapel.

Jeffrey Jay Movick was born December 12, 1957 in Mason City, the son of Arlo and Shirly (Schinnow) Movick. Growing up in the North Iowa area, Jeffrey graduated from Lake Mills High School in 1975. On May 1, 1981 he married the love of his life, Tracy Axiotis at Wesley United Methodist Church in Mason City. The couple had one daughter, Amber. For many years Jeff worked at Huber Supply and later at United Rentals.

Jeff was a quiet man who enjoyed time outdoors. Camping with he and Tracy’s friends always brought him great joy.

Those left to cherish his memory are his wife of 40 years, Tracy; daughter, Amber (Jason) Triggs of Mason City; grandchildren, Kyle Movick, Ryan Calahan, Taylor Triggs, and a great-grandson, Zimajay; his parents, Arlo and Shirly Movick; siblings, Mike Movick of Des Moines, Debra (Reed) Lucas of Des Moines, and Ann (Brian) Miner of Pineville, MO; brother-in-law, Randy Axiotis; as well as numerous extended family members.

Preceding him in death are his brother, David Movick; maternal and paternal grandparents; and numerous extended family members.
