John A. (E.?) Baker Dies Following Illness of Only Six Days
Following an illness of only six days, John A. (E.?) Baker, 212 First street southeast, died at 11:30 Tuesday morning at a local hospital. Death was due to ulcers of the stomach.
Mr. Baker was born Nov. 28, 1861, at Kilbourn, Wis., and came to Mason City in 1871. He married Miss Margaret Long May 13, 1891, north of this city and aside from five years spent at Clear Lake, Mr. and Mrs. Baker have lived here since their marriage. Mr. Baker was in the meat market business here with his father for a number of years and at one time was manager of the Buehler meat market.
Besides his wife, Mr. Baker is survived by a daughter, Mr. Tom Bartusek of Rock Falls. Arrangements for the funeral had not been made Tuesday afternoon.
