Suspicion of Poisoning.
Mason City, Iowa, May 26.—There is intense excitement over developments in the death of Edward Hughes. He was a very popular young man. He died five week ago. supposedly of heart failure. Facts have since been brought to light which strongly indicate that death resulted from poisoning. Suspicion is strong, but as yet no arrests has been made. The body of the deceased was exhumed and the stomach sent to Prof. Haynes, of Chicago, for examination.

Transcriber’s Note: Find a Grave shows he was born Nov. 27, 1863 and died April 17, 1898. He is buried in Elmwood St. Joseph Cemetery.
