Terrible Tragedy near Mason City.
A telegram from Mason City gives the details of a horrible tragedy enacted on a farm four miles from that place about midnight Monday. Mrs. H. Tenure had been ill for some time and evidently mentally unbalanced. The Saturday previous she had secured a revolver and with this she shot her husband, killing him instantly, then turning the weapon upon herself she pulled the trigger. The sparks set fire to her clothing and she was terribly burned, dying five hours afterwards. The coroner’s jury returned a verdict in accordance with the facts as stated herein. Mr. Tenure was forty-two years of age and his wife forty. They leave a family of six children.
