Town Is Eager to Discover the Slayer of a Popular Citizen.
It may be that inside of a week the murderer or murderers of Michael Cummings may be brought to justice. Plymouth is all torn up over the crime that has been committed. There was hardly a man in the community who would have been more missed, and the people are insisting that justice be done. Shortly after the murder parties discovered a large pool of blood not far from the track. Near this a piece of a woman’s dress was found and this is an important clue. It is now in the possession of the sheriff.
The general opinion is that Mr. Cummings was killed by being struck on the head with a club or something of that character, and then carried into his room and laid on the floor. A number of his brothers and sisters from Minneapolis and Clearmont have been looking over the situation, and they are satisfied that their brother met a cruel death. As they are well to do, it is expected that they will do all in their power to clear up the case.Source: Twice-A-Week Plain Dealer Nov. 24, 1908, 3, C3
Plymouth Men Accused of Slaying Companion During Quarrel
Frank and Albert Didena and Vince Navatil, all of Plymouth, were arrest¬ed there by the sheriff, charged with the murder of Mike Cummings, sec¬tion foreman, who was found dead in his home with his neck broken three weeks ago. The officers think that Cummings was the victim of a drunk¬en row at the Faltesek home, and was carried home by the Didena boys dead. The story was started that he fell from his bed, breaking his neck.
