James Cahill At Rest

Relatives and friends were shocked Monday upon hearing of the death of James Cahill, which occured at Cherokee last Sunday morning at about one o'clock.

The deceased had a bad attack of la grippe which turned into pneumonia, causing his death within a week.

Word was received here one day last week of his illness and his brothers Jack and Pat went at once to his assistance finding him in the hospital at Cherokee, but not in a very serious condition was thought at the time. Pat arrived home Sunday and his was the only report received until Jack arrived with the body Monday morning.
The funeral was held at St. Patrick's church on Wednesday morning at ten o'clock, Father O'Reilly celebrating Mass and afterward delivering an excellent eulogy of the life of the deceased.
James Cahill was born at Madina, Dane County, Wisconsin, in 1861. He was the third child in a family of six children the rest of whom are living near Dougherty and all are enjoying the best of health.
He moved to Iowa in 1876 with his parents and has lived in Dougherty township ever since.
The deceased leaves two sisters and three brothers, to mourn his departure, they are Mrs John Conners, Mrs. Thos. Conners, Henry and Patrick Cahill, who have the deep sympathy of a large host of acquaintances and friends.
