Dewey Funeral Rites Conducted at Rockwell

SWALEDALE- June 10- Funeral services for John Dewey were held in the Catholic church at Rockwell, Wednesday morning. Burial was make in the Sacred Heart cemetery.
John Dewey was born in Ireland in 1841. He came to Belvedere, Ill., in 1865. In 1870 he moved to Ackley.
A few years later, he came to Cerro Gordo county, where he lived on a farm in the vicinity of Swaledale where died June 7.

His wife,nee Margaret Donough and a daughter, Mrs. Mary Hammil preceded him in death several years ago.
He leaves to mourn his death five children; Mrs Collins of Blue Earth, Minn., Mrs George Foster of Hopkins, Minn., Frank Dewey of Graceville, Minn., P. J. Dewey of Vancover, Wash., and M. A. Dewey of Swaledale. Eight grandchildren and one great grandchild and many other relatives also survive.
