Loretta B. Mullen dies in Dougherty

Loretta B. Mullen, 86, widow of John Mullen died Monday morning at her home in Dougherty. She had been a lifelong resident of Dougherty and had operated the Mullen store in Dougherty many years with her husband.

Mrs. Mullen was born Jan. 22, 1880, at Dougherty, daughter of John and Mary (Blake) Ormsby. She attended school at Dougherty and was married to John Mullen, June 5, 1905, at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Dougherty.

She was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Ladies Auxiliary of St. Patrick's Catholic Church, and the Catholic Order of Foresters.

Surviving are a son, Dr. Leo Mullen, Kansas City, Mo., two daughters, Ramona Campbell and Lorena Murphy, both of Dougherty; seven grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Two brothers, Robert Ormsby, Dougherty and George Ormsby, Palo Alto, Calif., and a sister, Mrs. Thomas (Mattie) Garvin, Chicago also survive.

She was preceded in death by her husband in 1954 and by a son, Joseph, and two brothers and a sister.

Funeral arrangements are incomplete.
The Hogan-McKee Colonial Funeral Home is in charge.

Mrs. Mullen Funeral Set for Thursday

Requiem High Mass will be celebrated for Loretta V. Mullen, 86, at 11 a.m. Thursday at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Dougherty. The Rev. L. H. Reicks, pastor of the church will be celebrant.

Mrs Mullen a life-long resident of Dougherty, died Monday morning at her home.

Pallbearers selected are Kenneth Weber, Walter McGee, E.G. and Robert Dougherty, and Louis and Martin Mullin. Ushers at the church will be Raymond and Vincent Dolan.

Burial will be in St. Patrick's Catholic Cemetery at Dougherty.

A Rosary was scheduled for 8 p.m. Tuesday at the Hogan-McKee Colonial Funeral Home in Mason City.
Visitation at the Mullen home in Dougherty will be from 10 a.m. Wednesday until the time of services.
St. Patrick's Rosary will be recited there at 8 p.m. Wednesday.
