Robert Joseph Hudspeth, 79, of Mason City died Tuesday August 26, 2014 in Mason City. Visitation and Memorial services will be held at Hogan-Bremer-Moore Colonial Chapel, 126 3rd St. NE, Mason City, Iowa. Visitation will be held Thursday August 28th from 5 PM-7 PM. Memorial service will be held Friday August 29th, 2014 at 11:00 AM.
Robert Joseph Hudspeth was born in Conrad, Iowa on August 3rd, 1935. Robert is the son of Katherine Marie (Smith) and Worth Hudspeth. He graduated from Elmore High School, in Elmore, MN. After graduation, Bob joined the U.S. Navy for four years. He was joined in marriage with Virginia Besch August 24th, 1963. They had four children, and later divorced. He married Tina (Mulhern) Seebeck on January 21st, 1989. Bob was best remembered for running Wesley Oil and the Standard Station convenient store in Wesley. He was the assistant manager at Southtown Lumber in Forest City for 10 years until his retirement.
Bob loved reading, watching the Price is Right, antiquing, woodworking, golfing, and his dog, Scooter. He was an avid Minnesota Vikings fan.
Bob passed away in his home in Mason City on August 26th surrounded by his loving family.
Those left to cherish his memory are his wife Tina, of Mason City; sons, Todd Hudspeth (Jess), of Atlantic, Iowa, Tim Hudspeth (Melissa), from Bouton, Iowa; daughter, Tara Rochleau, Whittemore, Iowa; step-daughter, Dani (Aaron) Sauerbrei of Readlyn, Iowa. He will be dearly missed by his grandchildren, Matt (Dani), Brittany and Malorie Hudspeth; Alex and Noah Hudspeth; Bryant Eakins; Taylor Steburg; Ayden Rochleau; Brady, Drew and Logan Sauerbrei; and Emma Clabaugh. He had many brothers, sisters, in-laws, nieces, nephews, step-grandchildren, and friends that loved him dearly.
He was preceded in death by his mother, father, daughter, Tracy (1985), step-son, Lucas Seebeck (2010), son-in-law, David Rochleau (2014), sister-in-law, Kaylene Hudspeth, brother-in-law, George Pappas, sister-in-law, Karrie Willier, brother-in-law, George C. Pappas, and his furry friend, Bear.
The family suggest memorial contributions for the Robert Hudspeth Memorial, 843 8th St. SE, Mason City, Iowa 50401.
A private inurnment will be at the Wesley Catholic Cemetery at a later date.
