M. P. Geary Service held at Church (1953)

Funeral services for Michael P. Geary, 70, financial secretary of the Knights of Columbus, who died Friday, were held Monday at the Holy Family Catholic Church.

Father Roger Sullivan was celebrant of the Solemn Requiem High Mass. Father John Reed was deacon and the Rt. Rev. Msgr. A. J. Breen was sub-deacon and gave the sermon.

Charles Hogan was master of ceremonies, David Berry, thruifer, and Jerry Scholl and Jack Hengenbarth, acolytes.
Memebers of the girls chior of Holy Family Church sang. Virgina Skram was the orgainist

Pallbeaers were Ed Dougherty, Dan Keane, George Staudt, Edward Moss, Walter Murphy and Leo Ewen.
Members of the Knights of Columbus Council, Mason City, attended the services in a group and acted as an honor escort.
George O'Connor and William Quinn were ushers.

Attending the services from out of the city were Mr. and Mrs. Leo Geary, Dougherty; Joe Geary, Rockwell; Mrs. Vernon B. Hollister, Charlotte N.C.; Mr. and Mrs. Dan Keane, Williams; Mr. and Mrs Walter Logan and Mr. and Mrs. James B. Rooney, Rockwell; and Sister Mary Sacred Heart, Whittemore, and many others from Dougherty and Rockwell.

Burial was at St. Patrick's Cemetery, Dougherty,
Father A.A. McAvoy, of St. Patrick's Church, Dougherty, gave the absolution at the grave.
The Colonial Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
