M. A. Bamrick dies in Iowa City Hospital

Michael Albert Bamrick, 56, lifelong resident of Dougherty, died late Tuesday evening in the Veterans Administration Hospital in Iowa City.

Mr. Bamrick was born Nov. 6, 1905, at Dougherty, son of Martin and Rose (Murphy) Bamrick. He was graduated from St. Patrick's Catholic School, Dougherty.

He entered the U.S. Army, March 1, 1942, at Des Moines and served 18 months in the European Theater during World War II. He was discharged as a Staff Sergeant.

Surviving are four sisters, Ella Barr and Agnes Chute, both of Dougherty, and Miss Kathryn Bamrick and Mr. Herbert (Lucille) Doering, both of Mason City, and a brother, James Bamrick, Rockwell. He was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters.

Mr Bamrick was a member of Brislin-Hogan American Legion Post of Dougherty and the St. Patrick's Catholic Church.

Visitation will be at the Hogan-McKee Colonial Chapel in Mason City after 4 p.m. Thursday.
The Rosary will be recited there at 8 p.m. Thursday.

Visitation also will be at the home of his sister, Mrs. Chute, at Dougherty after 1 p.m. Friday.
The Rosary will be recited there at 8 p.m. Friday.

Funeral arrangements are incomplete.
