In keeping with her wishes, cremation will take place with private family services at a later date. Interment will be at Clear Lake Township Cemetery in Ventura, Iowa also at a later date. Bertus was born on December 29, 1933 in Ventura, Iowa, the daughter of Lloyd M. and Antha Mae (Shuck) Ringgenberg. She attended Ventura High School and graduated with the class of 1951. She later graduated from La James School of Cosmetology in Mason City, Iowa, then becoming a licensed operator in Iowa. She also worked for some time with the Bell Telephone Company. Bertus was married to C. Bob Daniels, Jr. on July 27, 1956 in the Garner Presbyterian Church. They made their home in Hollandale, Minnesota where they raised their daughter. She was an active member in their church in Hollandale for many years. Bertus truly enjoyed visiting her relatives often and attending the dance, French horn, and sport programs of her grandchildren. She also enjoyed visiting with her many friends and loved her travels to many different destinations.
Survivors include her husband, two grandchildren, Chelsey Legried and Cody Legried; great-grandson, Alaric Levi Theilen; her many wonderful nieces and nephews; and sister-in-law, Georgetta Penard.
Bertus was preceded in death by her parents; her only daughter, Tammy Jo Daniels; her only brother, Cecil (Jeanne) Ringgenberg; and all of her sisters, Lucelle (Richard) Winters, Maxcine Duclas, and Almeda (Myron Lefty) Lewis.
Bertus had a passion for music, reading books, the Albert Lea Tigers, the Iowa Hawkeyes, and some golf – she could hit a mean 3 wood straight down the middle of the fairway every time.
She will be sorely missed.
