CLEAR LAKE --- Alvin "Ike" Dahle, 85, of Naples, Fla., formerly of Clear Lake, died Tuesday (July 30, 1996) at the Manor Care Nursing Home, Naples, Fla.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at the Ward-Van Slyke Colonial Chapel, Clear Lake, with the Rev. Fred Lewis of the Clear Lake United Methodist Church officiating. Interment will be in the Clear Lake Cemetery, with military honors by the Clear Lake V.F.W. Visitation will be held one hour prior to services at the funeral home.

The family suggests memorials to the Alvin M. Dahle Memorial fund.

Ike M. Dahle was born Dec. 4, 1910, in Kensett, Iowa, the son of Lars M. and Andrena (Hauge) Dahle. He attended school in Kensett, Iowa. Ike then went to work for Emery and Verna Ouverson and proceeded to make his home with them.

Ike entered the United States Army in 1942 and was in active duty with the Medical Corps during World War II, spending most of his tour of duty in the South Pacific.

Upon his discharge, Ike returned to Clear Lake and worked for Nichols Wire and Key Wholesale until his retirement in 1975.

After his retirement, he spent winters in Florida, and finally moved there permanently in 1992.

Ike was a member of the Clear Lake V.F.W. and AmVets.

He is survived by one sister, Alice Rinn, of Minneapolis, Minn.; one sister-in-law, Marie Dahle, of Mason City, Iowa; and a good friend, Verna Ouverson and her family, of Naples, Fla.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and two brothers, Max and Lloyd Dahle.
