September 09, 1995MASON CITY --- Dorothy D. Crumb, 91, of 302 Second St. N.E., died Wednesday (Sept. 6, 1995) at Good Shepherd Health Care Center.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at Major Erickson Funeral Home, 111 N. Pennsylvania Ave., with the Rev. Paul Boostrom of First Christian Church officiating. Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. today and until time of services on Saturday at the funeral home.
The family requests memorials in memory of Dorothy Crumb to the First Christian Church.
Dorothy D. Crumb was born March 15, 1904, in Mason City to James H. "Tod" Ransom and Daisy Van Note Ransom. Dorothy attended and graduated from Mason City High School in 1921. She then attended the University of Iowa. Dorothy married Charles R. Crumb on Dec. 9, 1944, in Mason City.
She was a member of the First Christian Church, PEO Chapter KW, and Daughters of American Revolution where she served as a regent for a couple of years.
Survivors include one brother, Harley Ransom of Mason City; two nephews, Dr. James H. Ransom and his wife, Marcia, of Topeka, Kan., and Robert C. Ransom and his wife, Donna, of Mason City; and several grand nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Charles in 1957, and her sister, Merle (Sister) Olney.
