MANLY — Tom E. Coyle, 46, of 3670 Raven Ave, died Tuesday (Jan. 15, 2008) at the Muse Norris Hospice Inpatient Unit in Mason City.

Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 19, 2008, at the First United Methodist Church, 119 S. Georgia Ave. in Mason City, with the Rev. Jim Turner officiating. Burial will be in the Oakwood Cemetery in Plymouth. Visitation will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. today at the Hogan-Bremer-Moore Colonial Chapel, 126 Third St. N.E. in Mason City. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Tom E. Coyle Memorial Fund.

Tom Eugene Coyle was born on Jan. 30, 1961, the son of John and Frances (Schumacher) Coyle at Mason City. He grew up in Manly and attended Manly Schools, graduating from North Central Manly with the Class of 1979. Following high school, Tom moved to Wyoming to work the oil fields. While there he met his wife, Robin. On May 17, 1986 he was united in marriage to Robin Hiller at Colman, S.D. Tom and Robin lived briefly in Washington State before returning home to Manly where they raised their three children. Tom was recently working for Dohrn Transfer and also doing grain bin construction and repair, where he met and developed friendships with many farmers.

An avid sports enthusiast, Tom enthusiastically followed the Iowa Hawkeyes, Minnesota Vikings, high school wrestling and especially enjoyed watching his children participate in sports.

Tom was instrumental in starting the youth wrestling program at Central Springs as well as being active in the Central Springs Booster Club.

Tom was a member of the Worth County Fence stretchers, Central Springs Booster Club, and an active member of the Plymouth United Methodist Church.

Tom is survived by his wife, Robin, of Manly; his children: John, Sarah, and Dylan, all of Manly; his mother, Frances, of Manly; his father and mother-in-law, Darrell and Naomi Hiller, of Colman, S.D.; his siblings, De (Howard) Nilson, of Rapid City, S.D., Kate Coyle, of Cedar Rapids, Mary Jo Baumann, of Manly, John Coyle, of Coeur’d’Alene, Joe Coyle, of Manly, Ann (Joe) Determan, of Mason City; brothers and sisters-in-law: Peggy (Pat) Baldwin, of Mesa, Ariz., Bill (Annie) Hiller, of Rock Valley, James (Jen) Hiller, of Colman, S.D., as well as many uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his father John; maternal grandparents, Joe and Millie Schumacher; and paternal grandparents, John and Grace Coyle.
