Decembrt 12, 1995MASON CITY --- Michael K. Chase, 53, of 809 S. Carolina Ave., died Monday (Dec. 11, 1995) at the Muse Norris Hospice Inpatient Unit.
Funeral services will be held 10 a.m. Wednesday at Major Erickson Funeral Home, 111 N. Pennsylvania Ave., with the Rev. Kathy Graves-Johnson, director of spiritual care at Hospice of North Iowa, officiating. Burial will be at Fort Snelling Cemetery, Minneapolis, Minn. There will be no visitation. Mike's wish was cremation.
Michael K. Chase was born Jan. 9, 1942, the son of Edwin W. and H. Joyce (McIntosh) Chase in Minneapolis, Minn. Michael attended Mason City Schools. He enlisted in the United States Marine Corps and served in 1960.
Michael married Cheryl Osslund on Aug. 20, 1965.
Michael was well known and highly respected for his skills as a crane operator throughout the United States. He was an operating engineer for over 30 years with the l 49 Union of Minneapolis and the l 234 Union in Iowa.
He retired in 1991 due to ill health.
Survivors include his former wife, Cheryl Chase of Mason City; three daughters, Kimberly Kline and her husband, Dennis, of Mason City, Kellie Chase of Mason City, and Kristal Chase of Golden Valley, Minn.; three grandchildren, Jason Kline, Brandon Kline and Brooke Fuchs; one sister, Pam Loeckle and her husband, Dennis of Mason City; one brother, Norman Joel Chase and his wife, Leota, of Mason City; two aunts, Phyllis Creigh of Mason City and Delores Smith and her husband, Leo J. of Stillwater, Minn.; and several cousins, nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Jon.
