Tuesday, October 09, 2018MASON CITY --- Dorothy H (Linke) Carlson, 98, of Mason City, IA, died at 4:35 a.m. on Friday, October 5, 2018, at Hospice of North Iowa.
A memorial service will be held 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, October 9, 2018 at Hogan-Bremer-Moore Colonial Chapels, 126 3rd Street NE, Mason City, with Rev. Dan Hernandez officiating. Inurnment will be in the Memorial Park Cemetery, Mason City. Visitation will be held 9:30 a.m. Tuesday, October 9, 2018 at Hogan-Bremer-Moore Colonial Chapels.
Memorial contributions may be directed to Muse Norris Hospice Inpatient Unit, Mason City.
She was born on March 6, 1920 in Jonesburg, MO to Fritz Linke and Rosa Stecklin of High Hill, MO. On November 25, 1943, she was married to Leonard (Curly) Carlson.
Dorothy spent most of her life in North Iowa. She loved gardening, canning, quilting, reading, animals and the outdoors. She was an excellent cook – always happy to feed everyone. She never said “No” to anyone when asked for help.
She is survived by three children: Cheryl Rohwedder (Marble Rock, IA), Jerald (Judy) Carlson (Fort Myers, FL), and Carole Tanner (Haslet, TX). She is also survived by 6 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren, and 8 great-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, two brothers, a son-in-law, and great grandson.
